Dr. Chintan Godhani

Dr. Chintan Godhani is a plastic, reconstructive and aesthetic surgeon at Elegance Transgender Clinic in Surat. He is trained in cosmetic surgery, microsurgery, trauma reconstruction, burns management and oncoplastic reconstruction. He completed his MBBS at AMC MET Medical College, Ahmedabad, his MS in General Surgery at C.U. Shah Medical College, Surendranagar, and his M.Ch. in Plastic Surgery at Shardaben Municipal Hospital and NHL Medical College, Ahmedabad.

He has experience in complex trauma care, microsurgery, burns reconstruction, congenital deformities and aesthetic surgery. His work spans facial aesthetics, body contouring, breast surgery, scar revision, hand trauma reconstruction and post burn deformity correction, always with a focus on natural, safe and patient centred results.

Clinical experience

During his residency in burns and plastic surgery at Shardaben Municipal Hospital and NHL Medical College, Dr. Godhani managed complex trauma involving arterial, venous, nerve, tendon and muscle injuries, and performed microsurgical anastomosis and hand reconstruction. He assisted in over 150 major head and neck reconstructive surgeries, and worked extensively with free flap reconstructions, including the free fibula flap, ALT free flap, radial artery forearm flap and PMMC flap. He also assisted many cosmetic procedures, including liposuction, gynecomastia surgery, breast surgery, rhinoplasty, fat grafting, facelift, necklift and abdominoplasty.

Research and academic work

Dr. Godhani has carried out research on platelet rich plasma in scar management and on day care surgery in surgical practice. He has several peer reviewed publications in national and international journals, covering microvascular surgery, complex wound reconstruction, head and neck reconstruction and reconstructive microsurgery. He has also presented at the APSICON and GPSACON conferences, on topics such as diabetic foot reconstruction, thumb reconstruction using toe transfer, microtia reconstruction and free flap surgery.
